Interim Lead Pastor
I have been a pastor for over 30 years. I have served congregations of 350 to over 4,000 in the Twin Cities, North Dakota and South Dakota. This is my first call to intentional Interim Ministry.
I look forward to helping Prairie transition so that it can have 25 more great years like the last 25. Together, we will figure out what we want that next stage of Prairie’s life to look like and then put plans in place to get there – that is the transition work we will do. I expect to be with you for approximately 18 months and I look forward to doing the work to get us ready for what comes next.
My wife Sara is also an ELCA pastor doing Interim Ministry. We have two grown daughters. We live just outside of Buffalo, MN where I served as Senior Pastor of Zion Lutheran since 2009. I am glad to be here and I look forward to meeting you.
I began serving the wonderful people of Prairie Lutheran Church in 2019. This community of faith walks with Jesus Christ in service and love as together we proclaim the good news to our neighbors locally and globally.
I arrived at PLC from the western shores of Lake Michigan where I served congregations in the greater Milwaukee area. I graduated from Luther Seminary in 2015 and Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2011. I was born and raised in the small, Norwegian town of Westby, Wisconsin – so despite years of education in Minnesota I am still a proud Cheesehead.
I enjoy uncovering the myriad of ways the Holy Spirit is active in the world. Sometimes the simplest of acts and most ordinary of moments produce miracles beyond belief – signs of Jesus Christ present in the world around us.
I love writing, playing piano, and the smell of coffee in the morning. My wife, Katie, and I have two kids: Hazel Grace & Harvey James. Together we share our home in Eden Prairie with three wild creatures: Our dogs, Lacy and Kirby, and our cat, Zeus.
Director of Worship Arts
I am blessed to have begun working for Prairie Lutheran Church in 2019. My mission is to unveil scriptural truth through art. I have led music at church worship services since 2013, and got my start with worship ministry in 2008 in my high school youth group.
I received my BA in Music from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 2015. I have served in many musical leadership roles, including directing 15+ musical productions, performing for 60+ weddings, performing in 25+ musical theater/opera productions, and 5+ years of private music lesson instruction.
I love to learn new musical instruments, compose musicals for young performers, meditate and pray, do yoga, drink coffee, and spend quality time with my wife Allycia and our two cats.
Director of Youth Ministry
My name is Caroline Helgren and I have had the honor is guiding the middle and high school youth of PLC since 2018! Working alongside youth and their families is an adventure, and a joy. From weekly bible studies to mountain climbing, you never know where youth ministry will lead!
I grew up in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis where I eventually traveled to the land of corn and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. After a quick jaunt in Colorado and my initial start in ministry in Nebraska, I found my way back home to Minnesota. I now live in Savage, Minnesota with a sassy long-haired cat named Beesly and, as of May 2021, my husband TJ!
In my spare time, I love to play guitar, cook up a storm in my kitchen, paint for friends and family, and find a patch of sunshine to be in. Ministry will never be a “job”, but a vocation, a verb, and a lifestyle. One that I am happy to live alongside the people of PLC!
Director of Business Operations
I am the Office Manager at PLC. I'm thrilled to be a part of this wonderful team of people here. I love the Lord and enjoy helping people. As Office Manager, I look forward to combining both of these passions to serve this community.
I live in Richfield. I have two adult children. I love dancing and have taught children dance for over twenty five years. I also enjoy reading, sewing, crafting and listening to music.
I am the Web Designer for PLC. I started with PLC as the Office Coordinator, a position I truly enjoyed. With the birth of our son, my husband Brad and I decided I would work part time. I have been doing web and graphic design for PLC ever since!
I graduated from Iowa State University with a BFA in Graphic Design. Started my career at a small book publishing house then spent a few years each working for the design groups within ConAgra Foods and Schawk Digital Solutions.
I am blessed to be a part of PLC. I hope that my communication and design skills can help keep people informed about all of the wonderful things happening at Prairie Lutheran Church!
