At Prairie Lutheran Church, our culture is warm and welcoming!
We welcome all with open arms and nurture our congregation by reaching out to children, youth, families, and all others with the love of Jesus Christ. We invite all people to share in meaningful worship, to unite in authentic community with other believers, and to teach and equip everyone for Christian living.
Below is more information about our worship theme and practices to encourage everyone in their faith.
Each fall, Prairie Lutheran Church takes a theme to focus our faith. This year our faith community is coming together around the Gospel of St. Mark. Starting in September, 2018 we will be uncovering the promises of Jesus Christ as presented in this unique telling of the story of our savior. Here is how you can connect and experience blessings of St. Mark’s Gospel this year:
Attend Sunday worship and hear the Gospel proclaimed in Word, prayer, music, the arts and fellowship.
Join a Small Group to study the Gospel. Faith is strengthened when we join together and dig into God’s Word.
This fall we are celebrating the Holy Habit of Worship. Throughout the year we will be digging into our theme verse, Romans 12:1. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
The Apostle Paul is announcing that worship is a lifestyle. Wherever our body is, that is where we can worship; 24/7. Our every breath is an opportunity to worship God.
Here are some ways you can practice your worship breathing this year:
Worship on Monday – monthly Sunday morning gatherings to embrace worship as a lifestyle
Worship Night Series – quarterly Sunday night gatherings to worship through music
Stay tuned for announcements for these gatherings at Prairie Lutheran Church!
To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up,
until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:12-13
An active and confident faith means people have Soft Skills, Clear Skills and Practical Skills. Skills are caught as much as they are taught. We design experiences and programs where by participants can encounter and practice these skill sets. Soft skills include Behavior, Conduct, and Attitudes such as the Fruits of the spirit = Hospitality, Generosity. This brings unity to the body of Christ. Clear skills include Wisdom gained from Scripture and theology, this deepens our knowledge for building up the body of Christ. Practical skills include Abilities and Talents inspired by the 5 Holy Habits. These bring maturity to the body of Christ.
We believe TWO influences have greater impact! That's why PLC loves ORANGE – when
we partner to combine the LIGHT of the church with the LOVE of the family, we develop a stronger faith in GOD.
We want to equip everyone with an active and confident faith. Which is a faith that sticks! Our youth need to have a faith that they live in, whether at church or not. By the help of God we wil focus on creating a faith that sticks.
