There is no greater gift than the act of service. At Prairie Lutheran Church we take the gift of service joyfully. We do so because our Lord Jesus inspires us. He explained, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” This program year, 2016 – 2017, our congregation is focusing on the Holy Habit of Serving. Our goal is to engage, encourage and celebrate our members and how they serve. It begins at worship on Rally Sunday, September 11. During the worship services over the months of September – October you will have the opportunity to share where you are currently serving. You can help create a veritable forest adorned with the leaves of service.

We believe that Jesus does not exist only within the walls of the church building. He is everywhere and goes before us and meets us where we are at. (Matthew 28 20) The same goes for serving. We celebrate your service both in spaces within PLC and also in all the places where you live. At Prairie Lutheran Church we want to acknowledge your many acts of service and to encourage you to keep your witness strong.

God created us to serve. When we help others we are embracing our God-given purpose. We are, in a way, leaving God’s fingerprints upon the world. Thank you for serving. Thanks be to God for the joy of using our hearts and hands to make Christ known!

Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” This year we are answering that challenge. Our goal is to have 100% employment for the kingdom by Prairie Lutheran Church. Will you be a laborer for Jesus’ sake?
